Passionate About Inspiring Others
My name is Hollis Citron. I have been on my own journey which led me to create I Am Creative. I am passionate about helping people of all ages and abilities to get in touch with their creative side and realize how much their life will change because of it.
Have you ever had someone look at something you created — a drawing you made, a picture you took, a DIY sculpture, a recipe you made — and tell you that it wasn’t good?
That piece that you poured your energy, heart, and soul into, the one that you were quietly (or even loudly) proud of, did not meet someone else’s arbitrary standards of what creative expression looks like. And even though you knew you shouldn’t care what someone else had to say about the piece you just created, you did.
You create because it awakens your soul. Not for external validation. And yet, it hurts to hear:
-
Your work is not good enough.
-
You’re not good enough.
-
You aren’t creative.
-
You don't have enough talent to create.
-
You are not artistic.
-
Nobody wants to see what you create.
If you’re infuriated reading this, good, you should be.
Because YES, you ARE creative.
I am on a mission to make creativity accessible to everyone by exposing new possibilities. I am passionate about helping people build the confidence to recognize, encourage, and express the innate creativity that they are born with.
I am here to fight for the inner voice in your head that screams every time someone tells you that you and your creative expression is less than. I am here to fight for your ability to explore your creative story.
Yes, you ARE creative. And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
I love that moment when you see the lightbulb go on or the Aha moment when a person owns the experience and is all in! I look forward to meeting you and learning more about your story.

How did my life take a turn to the creative side which limited the struggle and created the connection?
-
Created a personal goal and put it in writing to make me focused
-
Found a studio space to create my own work
-
I spend more time with people that are likeminded and motivated to do what makes them happy
-
I am kinder to myself and am more aware to delete the negative self-talk

I am here to help turn the light on for others as I have found it within myself. The education world is a familiar one. I have taught in various settings from shelters to public schools to ages 2- Adult in both general and special education for the past 20 plus years. Leading teacher and parent workshops to incorporate art into the classroom and homes has been an exciting alternative to reaching more people. As I have re-sparked my creative side I have had showings of my work in galleries located in New Jersey and Philadelphia. A quote that I really resonate with is,
"Mistakes are proof that you are trying".
Workshops both online and in-person are led by myself and others that are experienced in the field or creative outlet. I do not claim to be an expert in all of these fields so I bring on those who have a lot of experience and qualifications to share the knowledge and get you excited!
