This passion comes from one of those life-changing moments that I had during my freshman year of Art School. I was in drawing class — and drawing has never been my thing — and I asked my teacher to show me how to draw something.

 

The teacher came over and started drawing it on my paper, disrespecting the work I had already begun. When I asked the teacher if she could show me on another piece of paper, she answered that I wasn’t good enough to do it on my own. 

 

For those of you who have been told that you are not good enough, I see, honor, and validate you. 

 

I am here to fight for the inner voice in your head that screams every time someone tells you that you and your creative expression is less than. I am here to fight for your ability to explore your creative story. 

 

Let’s show them, along with my Freshman year art teacher that they are wrong. Let’s show them how together if we learn to open our minds and our thoughts, that we can change the world.

Yes, you ARE creative. And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
